A plain mint does a specific job that flavoured liquids cannot. Sweet and fruit liquids build on the palate over a day, and most people who vape steadily end up wanting something to reset it; a mint is usually what that something is. It also has a real advantage where coils are concerned, because there is almost no sweetener in a straight mint, so it leaves far less residue than a dessert, a cream or a candied fruit, and a coil will last noticeably longer on it. If you have been changing pods every few days on a sweet liquid, running mint for a week is a fair test of whether the liquid or the coil was the problem. The cooling serves a second purpose at these strengths too: it takes the edge off the throat hit, which is much of why 50mg is tolerable at all.
