The Xlim SQ Pro is the square-bodied member of OXVA's Xlim family, and the Pro revision brings it into line with the rest of the range: 30W of output, a 1200mAh battery and a 0.96-inch TFT colour screen in place of the plain indicator the earlier SQ made do with. It takes the whole XLIM cartridge family — XLIM V2, Top Fill and prefilled — which is the single strongest argument for buying into this platform at all.
Cartridge choice is where the device is actually configured, and the range runs from 0.4ohm to 1.2ohm. A 1.2ohm pod with a 50mg salt gives a tight, cigarette-like mouth-to-lung draw at low power; a 0.4ohm pod is what unlocks the full 30W and a warmer, looser restricted direct-lung hit, at the cost of getting through liquid much faster. The device accepts both freebase and nicotine salt liquid, so it is the pod doing the work rather than the battery. Two firing modes cover the rest: Smart Mode reads the fitted cartridge and matches power to it, which is the sensible default, while Power Mode hands the wattage back to you when you want to run a coil harder or softer than the device would choose. 1200mAh is a fair figure for a body this size — enough for a day of moderate use, less if you are running a 0.4ohm pod at full output, which is worth factoring in when you pick a cartridge. OXVA has carried over the leak-resistant construction the Xlim line is known for, which in practice means fewer episodes of liquid pooling in the base and ending up in a pocket. The screen offers three selectable themes; that part is cosmetic, but it does make the wattage and battery readings easy to check at a glance.
